Four Ways To Style A Blanket Ladder

Blanket Ladders

Made from metal or wood, blanket ladders feature a simplified design that is made to lean against the wall of your bedroom, hallway, or living room to save on floor space. Three to five rungs offer space to hang your folded blankets or quilts, where they are not only easy to reach but shown on display rather hidden in a basket or closet. Who ever made the decision to bring ladders into the home for decor purposes, we don’t know. But, we are here for the primitive nod in home decor. We have had a number of customers comment on liking the style of a blanket ladder without a need to showcase blankets. So we got to thinking To offer an alternative, here is our list of ways to style a blanket ladder that aren’t blankets.

Holidays

Starting out strong with the holiday decorations. Not everyone possesses a mantel to hang their stockings so they are often not used or set under the tree. But what if we hang the Christmas stockings on our blanket ladders! Simply tying them on with a ribbon or grabbing a package of ‘S’ hooks (make sure they are wide enough for the rungs) you can have those babies on display. We especially like this option as the ladders primary use can still be blankets during the year, only swapping out for the holidays, making this home decor item multipurpose.

Pro tip: wrap some garland and/or twinkle lights down the sides to create a full seasonal display.

Bathroom

Are you short on towel storage space? Perhaps you like to see your options on display? Or maybe in need of a towel bar? Look no further then the blanket ladder. Another useful purpose here although we do get some concerns about wood products in the bathroom. To this we would suggest a metal blanket ladder. But in all honesty, with the use of a bathroom fan and that all of our wooden blanket ladders are sealed with a clear coat for protection, we give the green light.

Another option to add here is hanging small baskets in addition to or rather than towels. Particularly something soft and woven would be our suggestion for style points. These can be added using ‘S’ hooks again, and used for a wide variety of small bathroom items. Such as, extra rolls, washcloths, bath bombs, and so on. Using these blanket ladder options (particularly with the wood style) for the bathroom can definitely add a cozy essence to the typically cold bathroom feel.

Pillows

If you have an excess of throw pillows in your living room or bedrooms but you cannot seem to part with them, put them on display by stuffing them in your blanket ladder!

Clothes

Anyone else have ‘the chair’? You know, the one thats been designated to hold your clothes in limbo of the laundry basket and the closet. Well picture that, but as a ladder! Great for smaller spaces like inside your closet (so you don’t have to look at it). This idea can also be used for those who like to pre-plan their outfits, using a rung a day.
