A Saskatoon souvenir staple! These beautiful purple berries are indigenous to North America. The name comes from the Cree word, Mis-sask-quah-toomina. Saskatoon berries have their own unique taste. They are very similar to blueberries, although they are more closely related to the apple family. Many would describe the taste of Saskatoon Berry as a sweet, nutty almond flavour. Enjoy these Prairie berries spread on toast or warm up and poured over waffles. On the savoury side serve with game meats like elk or caribou. Saskatoon berries are also high in calcium, fibre, potassium, iron and magnesium! Our Saskatoon berry handmade jam is 100% fruit, and is a jam not a spread!
